Hemoglobal
Youth Alliance

Hemoglobal Youth Alliance (YA) is a dynamic online community where passionate students come together to create real global impact on health inequities.  As a member, you will collaborate in small teams to design, plan, and host meaningful events that support Hemoglobal’s mission to Make Care Fair for children living with blood diseases while building practical skills you can use far beyond the classroom.

All meetings and workshops are held on Zoom, so you can participate from anywhere in the world. We additionally offer in-person event options for those who are interested. Youth Alliance is perfect for high school and university students who want to make a difference, earn volunteer hours, and connect with motivated peers, especially students whose schools do not yet have a Hemoglobal chapter.

Youth Alliance members can participate in the following initiatives:

Skill-Building Workshops
Members attend three workshops focused on event planning, marketing, and building relationships with local businesses. These sessions give you the tools to confidently run fundraisers and lead successful initiatives.

Build your own Fundraiser
Individually or in teams, members create and execute their own fundraising event from start to finish. You will brainstorm ideas, reach out to sponsors, design graphics, promote your event, and host it, all with guidance from Hemoglobal interns. This is a hands-on leadership experience that builds confidence, organization, and networking skills.

Sell it Forward Challenge
Put your creativity and marketing skills to the test by selling customized items in a friendly competition. The top fundraiser wins a prize while learning real-world sales and promotion strategies.

Hemoglobal Youth Alliance proudly recognizes outstanding volunteer contributions through several awards:

  • Youth Alliance Participant Certificate: Awarded to all members of Youth Alliance who attend all workshops, participate in at least one club-wide event, and a team fundraiser

  • Build your own Fundraiser Competition Award: Awarded to the team who raises the most donations through their fundraising event

  • Sell it Forward Challenge Winner: Awarded to the individual who raises the most donations through their individual sale challenge
